Bestamphetamines is the solo project of my good friend and former bandmate Collin Sleasman. He wrote the songs on this album over the course of a few years. The album features a mixture of dreamy guitar loops, whimsical melodies, and synthesizers.

Most of the album was recorded in my apartment in Scottsdale, Arizona and mixed in my home studio in Tempe. The uplifting song This New Life of Yours is one that I wrote for Collin, inspired by his move to New York City, and is bookended by field recordings that I gathered when I visited him in 2018. Birthday Kool Aid is a mangled recording of Collin messing around with his guitar pedals during a recording session, which I included because it represents such an elemental part of his process.
